| Segundo noticiado em jornais, o clube já existia pelo menos em abril de 1917 mas foi "inaugurado" (vide acervo FN) em 20 de maio no bairro (na época Vila) do Anil. Em 1920 mudou de sede para a Rua Osvaldo Cruz no Centro.
